Dreaming of a environment that is cleaner and ever more spacious in which we can live better, we decided to design a device that can improve our quality of life.
In the future, our planet could be greener if each of us in our daily lives were to adopt measures to recover, recycle and separate waste products.
Currently each day we use millions of plastic bottles, tetra-pack containers and cans, which are then collected in special deposits before being recycled, deposits that are taking up increasingly more space; it is therefore becoming increasingly urgent to reduce the space taken up by each of these elements.
For this reason we chose to introduce a small home appliance in which, by introducing a whole plastic bottle of any size, from 0.5 up to 2.0 litres, with the cap removed, the MAIOR DOMUS system will reduce it by almost 80%, thus obtaining a small plastic cylinder a few centimetres high. Just like you get with tetra pack containers and cans.
This operation, which takes just a few seconds, is extremely advantageous because it considerably reduces the space taken up in the home and in the collection bin, not to mention fewer trips to the bin and reduced use of the huge bags for plastics that we put outside our homes on the designated days, for those municipalities that adopt this type of differentiated waste collection.
Moreover, if all should use this system, it would be greatly beneficial across the board, since it would not only allow us, the consumers, to free up space in the home, but also enable those who physically empty the bins to reduce their travel, resulting in fuel savings and reduced CO2 emissions.
It is also important to extend the discussion to canteens, bars, motorway service stations, hotels and holiday villages, nursing homes, hospitals, government offices, etc., where there tends to be greater consumption of bottles and little thought given to reducing them
